Today, for English subject, as usual, we have to write a post on 'song'. Hmm.. songs? Think out of the box? I wonder how am I going to write this post? Well, i must at least try and write something if not, I doubt that I would even finish this entry at all. Well, the following is what I think of the word 'song'.

Song, basically, I associate the word song with singing. Well, song actually meant the act of singing. When people sing something, that is called singing a song. Song is when you put words together and say it in a very melodious way or with a tune.

Songs. There are many category of songs. Example of the categories are rock, pop, jazz, classical blues, instrumental and much more. Certain songs makes the listener feel emotionally affected as the way the singer present his or her song in a very sad tune or the words use in the songs might affect the listener.

Another category of songs, which is the pop rock, can make the listener feel very energetic and excited. This may cause someone, from a sitting down position to be very jumpy. This type of songs may cause someone to be rather hyperactive as they could not stop themselves from jumping.

When I hear the word song, that straight away reminds me of the choir people. The choir people always perform on the stage by singing songs. They can present their songs in many different ways. Some songs that they present can make us laugh as either ther action of expressing the song is very funny or the song itself is very funny. Certain songs might also be very boring as the tune of the song is very, very slow or the song itself is very BORING..

People tend to react as they listen to songs. The songs may cause them to sway from one side to another as it is a very slow song. While other songs may cause the listener to be very interested in the song as the words being used in the song might have somehow, touched, the listener's heart. Others may cause the listener to jump or have no reaction at all!!

Dance steps may also be created when people listen to songs. People usually tend to dance when they listen to songs. It does not matter whether the dance step was copied from someone or they have made it themselves, right on the spot when they heard that song. The listener usually dance to the beat of the song and the dance step must also coordinate with the song, if not, when the people dances with the song on, it would look very odd as the dance steps does not coordinate with the song.

Kaez.. this is my 6th post..

Today at about 5.30am, I was awaken by all the noise that my younger sister made when she was getting change to go to school. When i woke up, I remembered that I am going to have my physics test today. Actually, I was going to study at about 12 am in the morning but unfortunately, I fell asleep. hehe..

I got to study for chapter 1 only as I also have to get ready to go to school. When I reached school, I quickly gave out the readers so that i can study a bit more while waiting for 7.35am.
So, I managed to study another chapter but I did not have enough time to continue to study chapter 12 as the bell had just rang. I panicked a little but I only managed to read through chapter 12.

When we finally kept the readers back, we quickly went back to class. When we reach there, my classmates had already gotten the papers and they nearly start the paper. I quickly settled down. After doing the paper, I think that the physics test was quite difficult but I was quite lucky as I knew how to solve some of the questions.

Then, when we came back after recess, it was mother tongue period. We went to one of the class at level 3. When we reach there, my Malay teacher gave this worksheet and told us that we are having the mother tongue TA1 now. I was very shocked as I did not prepare myself even though it was only a composition. I had quite a had time trying to think what story I should write. Finally, I came up with this story but I was feeling frustrated as we did not have enough time to finish it and the teacher did not even mind about that at all. So, I had to shorten my story. Delaila and I was the last person to finish the test.

The funny thing was that when everybody left the classroom, the light started to switch off. I quickly look up and I found it strange for the teacher to switch the lights off when we are still doing the composition. Izwan and n.diy was like, "Cher! Why u switch off the lights? They are still doing the composition..". When the teacher heard that, he quickly went in the classroom and was tickled when he saw us "staring" at him. He was giggling and asked us to finish our composition.

So, we came back to class about 15 minutes late and was horror-struck to see miss ross in the classroom. We thought that we would get scoldings from her for being late. But we were very lucky that we did not get any scoldings. I was kind of "blur-blur" when I came in as we were suppose to have our E maths at that time.

So, I just did what everyone else did. I found out that we actually had a change of timetable. After school, we found out that there was no biology as our biology teacher did not come to school today. So, we end up doing some stuffs on total defence. We also finished up the homeworks we had.

Now, it is time for me to start my reveision for social studies.....

gRaciOus..

Hmm.. We have to write a post on gracious. It did not even ring a bell. My mind was so empty when I found out that I would have to write a post on the word 'gracious'. The situation was worst when I heard that I would have to write about 400 to 500 words!! Oh no.. Well, here goes my entry..

Ok.. Based on the Longman Active Study Dictionary, also known as, my dictionary, gracious basically meant,
1) Behaving in a polite, kind, and generous way.
2) Gracious living
3) (Goodness gracious) spoken old-fashioned used to express surprise
Hmm.. After finding out the meaning of gracious, I think that it is a little easier now to write about gracious. Even though it sounds easy, it may not be that easy as it sounds.

The word gracious reminds me of the word graceful. This reminds me of the Chinese dancers and the Malay dancers as they dance gracefully and this causes them to be gracious. After remembering all of this, it also reminds me of my friend named Grace. Her attitude of being very kind to others makes her even more gracious and I think that her name really suits her. She is also from Chinese dance and this makes her even more graceful.

As I have mentioned it earlier, gracious can also be said with this another word: goodness. This becomes 'goodness gracious' which is actually said when people feels shocked, surprise, dismay, or alarm, as in Goodness gracious! Both goodness and gracious originally alluded to the good (or grace) of God, but these colloquial (Characteristic of or appropriate to the spoken language or to writing that seeks the effect of speech; informal) expressions, which date from the 1700s, are not considered either vulgar or impiously irreverent. (according to http://dictionary.reference.com/)

Gracious also meant gracious living. Gracious living meant having the kind of expensive comfort and beauty that only rich people can afford. This also meant that they have a wonderful life as they already have what is needed without even asking for it. They already have something that is inessential but conducive to pleasure and comfort or something that is expensive or very hard to obtain by normal people.

As gracious also meant being polite, an example of this is to give way. This can also meant by giving up your seats, to people that really need it like a pregnant lady, small children and also the elderly as they are not that stable, in the bus or in the mass rapid transit. We can also help the people that really need a hand like for example, help someone to carry stuffs that could not be managed by only one pair of hands. By doing this, we are actually practising graciousness in our country and this is a very good thing to do as we are promoting our country to tourists. So, when the tourist go back to their countries, they might say positive things about our country, thus making our country have a positive look by non-Singaporeans.

The antonym of gracious is ungracious. Ungracious basically meant that there is a lack of social graciousness which also meant being rude. These are the things or qualities that people should not have or should not practise in them. This might also bring negative thinking to the tourists and might end up disgracing our own country which is definitely unwanted by most or all of the people.

With this comments, i really have nothing more to say. So, i end my comments of the word 'gracious' here. Well, the total words i have written, not including the first and the last paragraph is 511. Phew.. really glad that i managed to do it.
